Fisher published the view in 1792 as a sepia aquatint, a printmaking technique that gives soft, even tones of brown like a wash drawing. This work is in the collection of the National Gallery of Ireland.

About the Artist

Jonathan Fisher (1735–1809) was an Irish landscape painter who made his name publishing views of Irish scenery as sepia aquatints. His prints record Dublin, its harbour and its countryside as they looked in the 1790s.
