Your grandmother walked past those columns every day—now you can see Dublin through her eyes.
The Four Courts, Dublin
Walter Osborne captures the Four Courts in soft impressionist light, the Liffey reflecting the building's grand stone facade. Painted in the 1880s when Dublin's legal heart still dominated the skyline, it's a window into the city as your ancestors knew it. This is your chance to bring it home.
About the Artist
Walter Frederick Osborne (1859–1903) was Dublin born and trained, one of Ireland's finest impressionists. He spent years in Antwerp and France absorbing European technique, then returned to paint his native city with fresh eyes. Osborne had a gift for catching Dublin's light—grey, golden, fleeting—and this work shows him at his best, balancing technical skill with genuine affection for his subject.
