Dublin around 1830, engraved on steel for the General Post Office Directory — and beneath the streets, a skyline in miniature: Nelson's Pillar, Home's Hotel, the GPO, St Patrick's Cathedral, the Custom House, the Four Courts, St George's Church, the Bank and the Wellington Testimonial, each drawn in elevation along the foot of the sheet. The river runs through labelled 'River Anna Liffey', the bay is marked simply 'THE SEA', Merrion Square and St Stephen's Green sit in their Georgian grids, and Portobello holds the southern edge of town. Part of that little frieze is gone from the city now — Nelson's Pillar stood on Sackville Street until 1966.

The plan was drawn and engraved by John Kirkwood of Crow Street, one of Dublin's own engravers, as a working map to be folded into the directory rather than framed — which is why surviving sheets are scarce. The original is in the National Gallery of Ireland.

The closing panel in a Dublin sequence — Moll's 1714, Faden's 1797, Wilson's 1798, then this — and a fine gift for anyone whose streets these are. Every print is open edition, made to order and shipped worldwide, backed by verified customer reviews.
