Collection: National Gallery of Ireland Collection

Ireland's national masterpieces — now available for your home.

The National Gallery of Ireland holds some of the most important works in the history of Irish art — from Frederic William Burton's The Meeting on the Turret Stairs to the great portraits, landscapes, and modernist works that define Irish visual culture. Each print is produced on heavyweight archival matte paper using pigment inks, available framed in solid wood or unframed.

These are works that hang in Ireland's national collection. Now they can hang in yours. Every print is open edition, made to order, and shipped free worldwide.

Questions about National Gallery of Ireland prints

What is in this collection?
Prints of works whose originals hang in the National Gallery of Ireland, from Frederic William Burton's The Meeting on the Turret Stairs (NGI.2358) to portraits, landscapes and modernist works. The National Gallery of Ireland works we print page lists each one with its artist, date, medium, dimensions and accession number.

Can I see the originals on display?
Being in the National Gallery's collection is not the same as being on display, and which works are on show at any time is for the Gallery to say. The Turret Stairs, for example, is a watercolour that fades, so it is shown for only two hours a week. Check the Gallery's website before you travel.

Are the prints made on good paper?
Every print is made to order on archival, acid-free matte paper with pigment inks, and can be ordered unframed or, at selected sizes, framed in black, white or natural wood, ready to hang.

How much do they cost?
Unframed prints start at €55 and framed prints at €120. Every size and price is listed on the print prices, sizes and framing page.

How long does delivery take, and what if it arrives damaged?
Shipping is free worldwide. Every print is made to order and dispatched within 2–5 business days, then delivered in 3–7 business days to Ireland, 4–8 to the UK, 5–10 to the USA, 6–12 to Canada and 7–14 to Australia. If a print arrives damaged or defective, email info@buyirishart.com within 14 days of delivery with a photo and we will replace it or refund you in full. We cannot accept returns for a change of mind, because every print is made to order. See Shipping & Delivery.

The letters

Once or twice a month we write about the paintings — where they came from, who made them, and why they still hold. The Burton on the turret stairs and the Danish ballad behind it. How Harry Clarke got that blue. Why the Celtic Tree of Life is younger than everyone says. No offers dressed up as news.
