Some landscapes don't just sit there — they pull you back. Connemara does that. The light changes every ten minutes, the mountains are never the same twice, and the lakes hold a silence you don't find anywhere else. Ó Maoláin's Connemara Lakes Cottage catches it — the stillness, the stone, the water going all the way to the horizon.
For anyone from the west of Ireland, or anyone who's driven that coast road and understood why people never quite leave, this print holds something real.
Printed on 250gsm archival matte paper with pigment inks that stay true for 75+ years. Framed in black, white, or natural wood — FSC-certified timber, ready to hang — shipped free from Dublin worldwide.
A piece of the west, wherever in the world you are.
About the Artist — Barra Ó Maoláin ▼
Barra Ó Maoláin is an Irish artist known as the painter of the Glens of Antrim, whose landscapes capture the particular quality of light along Ireland's northern coastline — Murlough Bay, Cushendun, the dramatic sweep of Glenariff. His paintings don't simply record what a place looks like; they convey how it feels to stand in it. Alongside his landscapes, he is known for expressive portraits of Ireland's literary giants — Heaney, Joyce, Beckett — and mythological subjects including Cú Chulainn, the Hound of Ulster. His work is held in private collections across Ireland and internationally.
